This lichen has been sustainably harvested from our farm without detriment to natural lands, and has been collected as a by-product of tree prunings destined for mulching.

Lichens are incredible natural plant like formations made up of a combination of fungus and algae. They form unusual coral like formations which can be used in a range of creative projects such as diorama, resin craft, scale models, floral arrangements, or simply displayed in a jar to admire these fascinating specimens.

This lichen has been naturally dried and will keep for an extended period if stored correctly. They can also re-hydrate with moisture added. To best maintain its quality, keep away from direct sunlight and store /display in an air tight container away from moisture. We would advise against use in closed living terrariums (ie. constant high humidity, no airflow) as this will excel their deterioration eventually.

The lichen retains its natural soft blue/green colour and has not been artificially dyed. Being a natural product, the colour may naturally fade over time and small fragments may dislodge in transit and with excess handling; therefore, they should be handled with care due to their brittle nature.

Individual pieces of lichen may vary in shape, size and colour but will be similar to our product pictured in the photos. There may be some pieces still attached to small twigs or containing yellow lichen in the pack.

Sent in eco friendly, tree-free takeaway containers made from rapidly renewable sugarcane pulp, a by-product of the sugar refining industry. The clear PLA lid is made from plants not oil and are certified industrially compostable.
